INR awarded diplomas on conferring academic degrees

On 26 July, an awarding ceremony of diplomas on conferring academic degrees took place in the Big Hall of the JINR Scientists’ Club. Two Doctors of Sciences and five Candidates of Sciences received their diplomas. By tradition, the event was held in a festive atmosphere with the participation of representatives of the JINR Qualification Committee, guests, and scientific secretaries of Dissertation Councils, at meetings of which the defences took place.

Chairman of the Qualification Committee of the Institute Victor Matveev, Deputy Chairman of the Qualification Committee Alexander Sorin, and Scientific Secretary Oleg Belov congratulated diploma recipients. In his opening speech, Victor Matveev highlighted the high quality of dissertations defended at meetings of Councils established at the laboratories of the Institute, the importance of the status of JINR as an organization with the right to independently award academic degrees. Participants expressed hope for a further increase in the number of defences in the Dissertation Councils of the Institute, and wished the diploma recipients new achievements for the benefit of the scientific fields they presented.

Egor V.Lychagin, a citizen of the Russian Federation, was awarded the degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics based on the results of the defence of his dissertation “Reflectors of very cold and cold neutrons based on ultrafine diamonds” in the speciality 1.3.2 “Instrumentation and Methods of Experimental Physics”. The defence was held at the meeting of the FLNP Dissertation Council on Condensed Matter Physics.

Evgeny A.Yakushev, a citizen of the Russian Federation, was awarded the degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics based on the results of the defence of his dissertation “Application of spectrometric methods and low-temperature germanium bolometers for direct search for dark matter particles and rare processes” in the speciality 1.3.15 “Nuclear Physics, Elementary Particle Physics, and High Energy Physics”. The defence was held at the DLNP Dissertation Council on Nuclear Physics.

Alexey V.Tuzikov, a citizen of the Russian Federation, was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Physics and Mathematics based on the results of the defence of the dissertation “Injection of heavy ion beams into superconducting booster synchrotron of the NICA Accelerator Complex” in the speciality 1.3.18 “Charged Particle Beam Physics and Accelerator Technology”. The defence was held at the VBLHEP Dissertation Council on Particle Physics.

Konstantin A.Levterov, a citizen of the Russian Federation, was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Physics and Mathematics based on the results of the defence of the dissertation “Formation of accelerated beams in the heavy ion injector of NICA Accelerator Complex at VBLHEP JINR” in the speciality 1.3.18 “Charged Particle Beam Physics and Accelerator Technology”. The defence was held at the VBLHEP Dissertation Council on Particle Physics.

Victor A.Kireev, a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Physics and Mathematics based on the results of the defence of the dissertation “Study of processes of hadron production, formation of nuclei and hypernuclei in collisions of heavy ions in PHQMD model” in the speciality 1.3.15 “Physics of Atomic Nuclei and Elementary Particles, High Energy Physics”. The defence was held at the VBLHEP Dissertation Council on Particle Physics.

Andrey V.Isaev, a citizen of the Russian Federation, was awarded the degree of Candidate of Physics and Mathematics based on the results of the defence of the dissertation “Studies of the multiplicity of instantaneous neutrons of spontaneous fission of even-even isotopes of transfermium elements” in the speciality 1.3.15 “Physics of Atomic Nuclei and Elementary Particles, High Energy Physics”. The defence was held at the FLNR Dissertation Council on Heavy Ion Physics.

Alexey A.Bogachev, a citizen of the Russian Federation, was awarded the degree of Candidate of Physics and Mathematics based on the results of the defence of the dissertation “Study of fission, quasifission, and fast fission in heavy ion reactions resulting in formation of neutron-deficient isotopes 180,190Hg and 184Pb” in the speciality 1.3.15 “Physics of Atomic Nuclei and Elementary Particles, High Energy Physics”. The defence was held at the FLNR Dissertation Council on Heavy Ion Physics.
