For Bruno Pontecorvo Scholarship

In order to perpetuate the memory of the outstanding scientist Academician Bruno Pontecorvo, as well as to encourage and motivate young scientists, the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems of JINR annually holds a competition for the Bruno Pontecorvo Scholarship. According to the Competition Regulations, not more than one scholarship can be awarded per year and one can become a scholarship holder only once.

The DLNP Directorate appoints a committee on considering candidates for scholarships. Not later than 1 December, the Committee decides on awarding Bruno Pontecorvo Scholarship. The decision of the Committee is approved by DLNP Director.

Members of the DLNP Directorate, heads of departments and independent sectors, leaders of scientific topics can nominate participants in the competition for the Bruno Pontecorvo Scholarship. A brief abstract of papers, an overall list of publications and a scientific biography are submitted for each applicant for the Scholarship.

The competition for the Bruno Pontecorvo Scholarship is open to employees that have been working at DLNP at the moment of the announcement of the competition for no less than three years after receiving their academic degrees of a specialist or master and whose age at the end of the year of the competition is below 35.

When selecting candidates for the Bruno Pontecorvo Scholarship, the relevance and significance of the scientific topic that the applicant has been or is involved in, his/her personal contribution to the results obtained and their presentation at seminars and conferences will be considered.

Applications are to be submitted through 20 November.
