Jubilees Gennady Ososkov turned 95!On 13 February, the 95th anniversary of the chief researcher of the Department of Computational Physics of MLIT, Professor, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Gennady Alekseevich OSOSKOV was celebrated.
G.A.Ososkov has been working in JINR since 1961. He headed the successful development of mathematical support for automated measurement systems of experimental data at JINR. Headed by Professor G.A.Ososkov and with his participation, new fast and highly efficient techniques for detecting tracks and vertices of events, Cherenkov radiation rings and centres of electronic showers were developed and introduced, based on the widespread use of the robust statistical techniques, the use of cellular automata and neural networks. These results are widely used in a number of major physical centres of the world (CERN, DESI, BNL). The scientific interests of G.A.Ososkov include problems of simulating physical processes in experimental physics of high and low energies and statistical analysis of experimental data. One of the evidences of the commonality and efficiency of the developed techniques was their successful application in medicine and ionosphere research. G.A.Ososkov made a significant contribution to the investigations carried out by JINR in the experiments of the SBM (GSI, Darmstadt). Recently, G.A.Ososkov has been focusing on issues related to the work on the NICA Project. Machine learning techniques meet various types of problems for BM@N, MPD and SPD experiments: tracking, field map reconstruction, vertex search of interactions and clustering of particle tracks by events in time slices. Under his supervision, work on dynamic simulation of processes included in the storage, transmission and analysis of data for the computer infrastructure of the project is underway, the SyMSim programme to simulate a grid cloud environment has been developed. Within the framework of the project, a new system for simulating grid and cloud services has been developed, uniting monitoring, analysis of its results and in fact, simulation. In 2014-2017, he was the head of two scientific grants of the RFBR. Gennady Alekseevich is a prominent scientist in the field of applications of probability theory, computational statistics and pattern recognition, in the processing of data from physical experiments. Over 300 scientific papers, including two monographs, articles in prestigious Russian and foreign journals and reports at international conferences by G.A.Ososkov have been published. G.A.Ososkov constantly focuses on working with young specialists. He is a professor at Dubna University, from 2000 to 2015 he was a professor at the Department of Information Technologies of the Dubna branch of MIREA, he is a member of the MLIT STC and the MLIT Dissertation Council. He has issued four educational monographs. Under his scientific supervision, twelve of G.A.Ososkov's students have defended their theses, over 30 graduates have defended their master's, bachelor's and diploma papers. Gennady Alekseevich Ososkov, Honorary Doctor of Mongolian State University in Ulan Bator, was awarded the Medal "In memory of the 850th anniversary of Moscow", departmental insignia for the paper "Veteran of Nuclear Energy and Industry", silver and gold medals of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Jubilee Medal in honor of the 70th anniversary of Mongolian State University, the title of Honorary Employee of JINR, JINR Certificate of Honor and JINR Honorary Diploma. He has a Diploma of the Honored Professor of the Dubna University and the Honorary Title "Honored Scientist of the Moscow Region". In 2021, he was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Gennady Alekseevich is known not only for his success in science and mentoring, as well as his love for sports (he is constantly engaged in swimming and walking), his talent for writing poetry. JINR Directorate and MLIT Directorate, colleagues and friends cordially congratulate Gennady Alekseevich on this wonderful jubilee, wish him good health, happiness, maintaining an enviable positive mindset, inspiration and energy, further success in science and creativity!
